Why I like being a CNA
Being a CNA is my divine purpose and it allows me to express myself. The C is for caring. My nature is to give back to others what they so richly deserve. My caring says there for the grace of God go I. The N is for nurturing. Everybody needs it whether they recognize it or not. While providing care I receive a warm thank you from a smile, a nod, or some gesture that lets me know that my gift has been shared. The A is for attitude. It is an expression that hopefully long after I have left the room remains in their hearts and they know that they are number one.

Why I like to be a CNA
It is hard to describe why I like to be a CNA in 100 words or less. There’s so much to tell. Just feeling the gratification when I have done all that you “can do” for someone who couldn’t do for themselves. Knowing the appreciation that they feel (even if they can’t express it) because I care. It takes a special type of person to truly appreciate the calling of a CNA. Patience, love and kindness have to be in your heart. Being a CNA you have to be the shoulder to cry on, laugh to make them feel content and smile to chase the worries away. Right now in this moment in my life, I have the wonderful pleasure of giving a special gift to those who I work with. This gift isn’t materialistic but it’s the gift of unconditional love. Being a CNA is a calling that I have the opportunity to experience in my life and it is a wonderful experience. It is a position I am proud to uphold.

Why I Like Being a Certified Nursing
Assistant
During my years as a CNA it has been rewarding and sometimes makes me feel as though I’, home. I’ve seen many residents come and lots that went to their divine destination. Coming in each day knowing that my residents are looking forward to seeing me, even those who are not assigned to my care, but there they are sitting there with a smile on their face saying “Good Morning. How are you? We miss you, where have you been? Howdy?” That makes my day to hear these greetings coming and going.
But most of all, knowing that I have done my best for each one of these precious gems that God has put in my care for twenty-five years, this caring and sharing my heart with elderly has been rewarding. “I wouldn’t give nothing for my journey now.”
